I mean that very literally. I can close deep gashes and prevent further blood loss and scarring. I can't mend broken bones or cure illnesses or anything of the like. So it's useful in emergencies.

If someone's been peppered with bullets, they're a goner, but if they've been sliced up by a sword with none of their vital organs damaged, I can heal them. I can probably soothe up to 3rd degree burns...
So... if they don't need surgery or a blood transfusion, I can help them.
I can also do it the old fashioned way. I've had to patch up broken ribs and arms, sprained joints, variations of lacerations. I've had to take care of illnesses, poisons... All of these being the same people.

Hakuryuu can also turn into a Jeep in case we need emergency transportation. The roads are hard to drive on, but it's better than having to carry multiple people on foot if need be.
[Hakkai has no answer for him. He doesn't even really understand how it works. All he knew was that magic and science and then his dragon. He can drive it and that's all that matters, really. It got him and his companions from point A to point B with the occasional accidental detour.
He can understand how someone not from his world would be baffled by something like Hakuryuu.
So all he could do is lift his shoulders in a shrug.]

[He lets out another laugh and pets the hood of the jeep. The jeep'so headlights flash as it lets out a "kyuuu", then transforms back into the tiny, little flying dragon.
[He leads him back inside to show him around the rest of the small medical stores, to the back, where there are more boxes of things, a bit of the larger equipment, and most importantly, a couple of cots for staff to crash out on after long days. It's a good set up.]
[Hakkai follows him along quietly during the rest of the tour, listening to the explanations given to him about the things there. He's impressed by how well put together the clinic is by just gathering stuff he found and whatnot.]
How busy does this place get? I'm guessing pretty busy when it's more...eventful here?
We don't keep a formal list anywhere- though we've got a few people now, we really should. But people's duties are fluctuating and diverse-
We'll call it a project in the works. There's me and Kate, we're here almost full time, then there are five or six young people who do mostly scavenging. We also liaise with the watch group that's starting up, and teach them first aid classes, so in an emergency they'll be on-call, I guess, or helping triage? But they're all new amateurs.
All right. I understand. So it's a volunteer as needed sort of group. That sounds like it makes sense given the nature of this place. You don't know who will be incapable of helping when those things happen.
How often would you need my help? Or is that up to me?
Completely up to you. I could use some relief in terms of shifts being on hand- I try to keep someone here at all times and I'm feeling a little cooped up.

I can stop by a bit everyday if that makes things easy for you. Does anywhere from three to eight hours a day work for you? And if you need me to stay longer if the workload is hefty, I can do that, too.
